Joby Lawlor - Term 2 Update

Continuing her developments with loom-weave, this term Joby has introduced a colour pallete and considered the importance of light within her work. Exploring the use of mono-filaments to allow light to filter through double cloth weaves, she intends to create large scale tapestries for interior use.

This term Emily is continuing to channel Rococo and Baroque; creating modern-day twists on old classics. These highly intricate and detailed samples showcase the true craft of embroidery through well considered design.

Michaela Loughran - Term 2 Update

Butterflies have been the main inspiration for Michaela's prints this term; focusing on delicate, highly detailed structures and pastel colour ways. Her visuals are beautifully subtle yet very intricate at the same time...












Helen Ritchey - Term 2 Update

This term Helen is trying to push the boundaries of 'textiles' - leading to unexpected avenues. Her work has seen developments with PVA and silione as dominant media for these explorations.






Sian-Louise Mason - Term 2 Update

This term Sian's project is driven by REM sleep and the consequential experience of dreaming. Persuing a way to replicate these dreams has pushed her practice towards slightly more unconventional materials. The use of layering is heavily prevalent to communicate the sense of blurring the edges; crossing realities and everyday lives into subconscious realms.

This term Kim is presenting Huddersfield in a new light with her over-the-top whimsical and bright 3D map of the town. By utilising print and paperwork techniques she is highlighting the better aspects of being a Huddersfield-onian!!
